Terms and Conditions of Sale

General

All goods remain the property of Stringers (hereinafter called “the supplier”) until paid for by the customer in full.

Any damage, defects or shortages in supply of goods must be notified to the supplier within 48 hours of receipt.  Any claims submitted after this period will only be considered at the discretion of the supplier.

 

Our standard warranty terms are 12 months “back to base”, i.e. defective goods must be returned, at the expense of the customer, to the supplier for exchange or repair. 

 

Payment terms are 30 day monthly account, i.e. invoices raised by the supplier in month one should be settled in full by the end of month two.

Sale or Return

Scales requested for demonstration purposes require an offical order to the supplier from the customer at that time.  An invoice will be raised against it under our standard payment terms.  If the goods are not sold, a credit note will be issued, in full, on their return, at the customer’s expense, (complete with covering paperwork from the customer).  The goods are to be returned to the supplier in an “as new” condition complete with all original packaging, power supplies, manuals etc.  Any shortages or damage will be charged for in full.

 

Hire

Goods supplied on hire are done so at the customer’s risk.  Any losses or damage caused while on hire will be charged for in full.  Goods must be available for return or collection at the end of the agreed hire period.  If not available they will be subject to further hire charges until they become so.

 

Software

Software will be supplied to specification agreed between Stringers, the customer and the end-user (if different).  Any modifications requested after acceptance of a complete system or any demonstration/trial version will be chargeable.

 

Intellectual property rights will belong to the supplier.  Software is provided “as is” and Stringers grants no warranties, expressed or implied – it is the responsibility of the customer and/or end-user to test the software and ensure it satisfies all requirements.  Stringers will not be liable for any damages including any incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use or failure of the software.  It is the responsibility of the customer and/or end-user to put in place contingency plans and systems.

 

Support for any systems after the warranty period will be chargeable whether supplied remotely by email/telephone, equipment returned to the supplier or site visit.

 

WEEE Regulations

As part of our terms and conditions the customer will be responsible for all disposal obligations under the WEEE Regulations. Our WEEE registration no. is WEE/KD0075UR.

We take all reasonable measures to comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR). We also take all practicable steps to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal data. The spirit of the GDPR is transparency and clarity so we have tried to keep our privacy statement as simple as possible but the legalese has slipped in here and there.

WHAT data, WHY it is collected and HOW it is used?

It would be impossible to be in business without collecting postal and email addresses. Our operation is purely business to business but email addresses now mean that you can be identified as an individual either directly or indirectly, even when you are acting in a professional capacity. This data is therefore categorised as �personal data� under GDPR and falls under the scope of the regulations.

 

This data is collected for legitimate business purposes. You are either a customer, a supplier or an employee of the business and your information is used to undertake our day to day business such as the processing of orders, invoicing, purchasing etc. We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to do so and where we need to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

 

From time to time we will send out email newsletters with information about new products, changes to our prices, invitations to events and general news. This is via a third party interface, Mail Chimp. If you no longer wish be hear from us by email there is always an unsubscribe options on every message allowing you to opt out.

 

Will my information be shared with any third parties?

As a rule we do not share your personal data with third parties, however, there are a few exceptions. In some circumstances, your personal information may be disclosed within the normal scope of business, such as passing on company details for a potential sales lead. This is usually information that is already in the public domain, and you will be notified when this has taken place.

 

In the unlikely event that our business assets are sold or purchased by another company, our data records will be sold too as part of our business.

 

How long will my information be kept?

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including complying with any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations and resolving disputes.

 

What rights do I have?

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you (technically known as a data subject access request). If the information is incorrect you are able to request corrections.
